Luna has always spoken to the dead. In all the books she eventually reads on the subject it is described as difficult on the verge of being impossible, a branch of magic as hushed up as the day is long. It's her mother who teaches her, but she does it with a half-smile and a this is our secret, my princess so Luna understands it's quite a rare thing that should be kept from others. Lovely.
