Brief glimpses of Steve and Bucky's friendship over the years. Lovely.

Maybe the problem is that sometimes Bucky looks at Captain America in his red, white and blue uniform and shield, with his broad shoulders and strong back and his handful of inches on Bucky's height, and feels more lost than he has since he first stepped on English soil. He missed it all, Steve doing whatever he did to prove himself the one worthy man of all soldiers to be given the scientist's serum and he missed the change. He missed Steve's turn as America's new and improved Uncle Sam. He missed Steve becoming this hero Captain America. He misses Steve. Lovely and warm and suffused with melancholy and nostalgia.

Steve hypnotizes Bucky, who reveals that he has feelings for Steve. Really lovely first kiss, set prior to the movie.
Little Shots Who Keep Shooting by

In the downtime before their mission begins, Bucky takes Steve to the shooting range. Really nice UST here.

The gleam of gun-steel metal and a new star – no, a shield. His shield. He blinks, catches sight of a yellow page crumpled in the polished metal fist. Curious, he works it free. A note. From Fury, of course.
"Before you go working yourself up, thought you should know that the kid designed this all by himself. – Fury"
The slow, wondering smile takes Steve by surprise. He's hoped. He's believed. Hell, he's prayed. But this – Bucky branding himself with Steve's mark? – this is the first time he's known things will be okay. AU where Bucky doesn't run in London. Reunionating for the win! (comicsverse)

If Bucky was trying to convince himself of his sanity, he'd say that he'd started fantasizing about sucking Steve off after he showed up to save him that day, newfound strength in every limb as he helped Bucky up and out of that hellish place.
But it wouldn't be the truth.
Now, if Bucky was being honest, then he'd say how that was a complete lie, and that really he'd started fantasizing about such things long ago, long before Steve had become the star-spangled super soldier they all now knew him as, long before either of them had considered enlisting. Maybe even before there was a need to enlist. Sweet and hot.
Sleeping Arrangements by glossing
Steve and Bucky celebrating in their tent after a hard day of fighting. Hot and sweet. (comicsverse)

He doesn't need the contrition and he certainly wouldn't listen to an apology if Steve offered. He would be asking forgiveness for being who he is, or who he was. He would be apologizing for being small and asthmatic, for not being just another goddamn grunt in the mud, slogging through Europe next to Bucky. As though he would have made a difference in that battle. As though he wouldn't have been killed long before he got this far. Lovely, achy Cap/Bucky set just after Bucky is rescued.

Lovely bit of Bucky ruminating on how Steve has - and hasn't - changed since becoming Captain America.
