I enjoyed this AU where Petunia breaks up with Vernon and reconciles with Lily (and magic).

Less than a year has passed since the final battle, and the Ministry is already up to its old tricks. Harry would very much like them to stop ignoring due process, tossing people in Azkaban, controlling the press, and menacing the populace with dementors.

He would also like, if at all possible, to bake a passable loaf of bread. A few months after the Battle of Hogwarts, Harry decides to take on another difficult foe - the political establishment. And also yeast bread. I enjoyed this a lot. (There are recipes!)

The words hung over them on the still summer air like a mosquito net. Sirius took a shaky breath and closed his eyes, thinking that if he gave in to his current impulse and apparated to Iceland, he'd probably splinch the majority of his vital organs in the process. The resulting image didn’t seem too far off the mark, really: Remus sitting at the end of the dock next to a heap of wet guts.

Just as his resolve to stay put began to falter, Remus broke the silence. "So kiss me." Sirius spends the last full moon of the summer with Remus and they finally get it together enough to act on their feelings. Oh my heart. This is so lovely and evocative of long summer days full of yearning and nonsense.

The little kids had their own version of it, riding their bikes all over town: getting out and getting exercise, from an adult perspective ("It's so wonderful you're not staying cooped up in your room all the time, Dusty!" Steve heard Dustin's mom enthuse, one of the times he was picking the kid up to drop him off at the arcade), while actually scouting the town for anything weird and dangerous. He knew that Jonathan and Nancy occasionally did the same thing in the woods in back of the Byers house, working as a team, Nancy with a gun, Jonathan with a camera to document problems for the Chief to take care of. Steve figures some things out. Nancy and Jonathan help. <3
