Crossovers

Sandman/Pirates of the Caribbean
"If thou be'st born to strange sights..." by [livejournal.com profile] pandarus
Captain Jack Sparrow + Delirium, in an open boat on the ocean. And then Jack lands on an island, and meets another familiar face. Really enjoyable.

Sandman/Supernatural
The World's a Small Child in the Dark by [livejournal.com profile] stele3
Dean's year, and he's got a list. Sam finds it, and is determined to help Dean check off all the items. There are some characterization things in here that didn't quite work for me, but overall I really enjoyed the story, and the cameo appearance by one of the Endless. (Wincest)

*

Supernatural/Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Overheated by [livejournal.com profile] teand
Dean meets Cordelia when her car overheats. Flirty banter ensues, and though no real secrets are revealed, both recognize something in the other that's familiar. Wonderfully done.

*

Supernatural/The Crow
Through A Glass Darkly by [livejournal.com profile] azewewish
"Even the condemned lie to those they love." "Yeah, well, the point is, it's not okay." Sam and Dean in the wake of John's death, working a case. Sharp, difficult, heartbreaking crossover with "The Crow." Some minor grammatical nits but nothing to stop you from enjoying the story.

Supernatural/Harry Potter
Of A Sort and A Rough Start by [livejournal.com profile] ignipes
In the first, Dean has a fairly epic conversation with the Sorting Hat, and in the second, he spends his first week at Hogwarts trying to escape. The merging of the two worlds is well-thought-out, and the characterizations are spot on.

Friday Night Lights

You'll Never Meet No Decent Girls at Dallas Honky-Tonks by [livejournal.com profile] minervacat
Tyra looks up, looks in the mirror, and it's not her hair she notices -- it's Garrity behind her, one hand curled around Tyra's shoulder, the dark and light of them, the princess and the whore of Dillon, Texas. Excellent look at Tyra and Lyla - how they're different, and how they're the same.

You Were You by [livejournal.com profile] shelbecat
Maybe you weren't the kind of parent that went to parent/teacher conferences, and maybe you didn't make cookies for bake sales, but you went to his games, and you tried to show him that he was wanted, that he was loved. Billy Riggins on parenting. *sniffle*

Homicide: Life on the Street

In the Land of Pleasant Living by [livejournal.com profile] 2ndary_author
A perfectly realized slice of squadroom banter, circa season 2.

Alive On Air by [livejournal.com profile] loneraven
A broadcast of Potterwatch. Fred POV. Perfect. DH spoilers.

All Those Empty Spaces by [livejournal.com profile] jackiejlh
Fabulous, heartbreaking look at Petunia during Deathly Hallows.

Combat Rock by [livejournal.com profile] trailingoff
They knew each other too well; they didn’t know each other at all. When they silently forgave each other and decided they’d rather die than kill each other, they were filled with self-righteous pity and love. Really, they were only boys. Life during wartime for Remus and Sirius. Shattering, bleak, and brilliant.

Enlightenment by [livejournal.com profile] dollsome
Tonks is smitten, Remus is oblivious, and Sirius is determined to enlighten him. Adorably bantery and domestic Remus/Sirius that made me all wah! Sirius! Set during OotP.

The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black (the last of the family line remix) by [livejournal.com profile] xylodemon
A retake on a story written just post-HBP, with the knowledge of what Regulus actually did to get the horcrux. Sharp and stark. (DH spoilers)

Somebody's Bed Will Never Be Warm Again by [livejournal.com profile] leiascully
(it had been weeks before all of Sirius' charm had worn off, and he still gets flashes of it after all these years, the potion soaked into the grain of unused muscles and released by a smile) beautiful, painful post-OotP Remus/Sirius.

Summer Holidays by [livejournal.com profile] penknife
Hermione tries to figure out what's next. Quiet, subtle, achy and beautifully drawn. (Deathly Hallows spoilers)

Ten Reasons to Love Bikini Girls by [livejournal.com profile] lupinslittlesis
Ten interconnected drabbles about the decor in Sirius's bedroom at 12GP. Lovely.

Twenty-Eight Points by [livejournal.com profile] magnetic_pole
Adorable story in which James wins Lily's affections via Scrabble. "You do try hard, Potter," Professor McGonagall said dryly, settling down behind her desk. "I'm...persistent?" he said.

you say that I treat you like a book on the shelf by [livejournal.com profile] penknife
Heartbreaking, beautiful Remus/Sirius built around the theme of books. The ending aches.
