Ahsoka the Vampire Slayer by [archiveofourown.org profile] Redrikki
Exactly what it says on the tin - AU where Ahsoka's the Slayer and Anakin's her watcher, but after she died and came back, there's a new, by the book Slayer, and Ahsoka and Anakin have to mend the strain in their relationship. This does a really great job of translating "Landing at Point Rain" into a Buffy-style monster of the week story. I could have read a few thousand more words of this fusion, but it ends rather abruptly.

"I'm not an engineer," Steve said. "I'm a sock knitter. You know? Knit, purl, increase, decrease. This—this is not a sock." He jammed the stitches down the circular needle and tossed the snarl of pewter-colored yarn onto the coffee table.

"Looks okay," Tony said. "Oh. Wait. Not okay."

Snow Day by [archiveofourown.org profile] Traincat
"What are you doing?" Carol demanded. The Hulk narrowed his eyes at her.

"Finding Spider-Woman," he growled. Carol threw her hands up.

"I'm doing that already!" she said. The Hulk scowled, then set one huge hand on top of Carol's head and, very gently, rumpled her hair.

"Team up," he said. Shocked and frozen halfway through pushing his hand off her head, Carol couldn't really think of an argument.

As far as backup went, the Hulk wasn't exactly a bad choice.

The scissors glint on the bathroom counter, a sharp silver that matches the spiral binding of Steve's notebook and the smooth surface of Bucky's arm. Natasha picks them up carefully, and Bucky finally opens his eyes, staring at their reflection in the mirror.

"How short?" she asks, and Bucky only shrugs a shoulder.

"Short," he says, and Natasha glances at Steve. Steve nods, waiting for Natasha to start trimming Bucky's hair before going back to his drawing.
Natasha gives Bucky a haircut while Steve sketches them. OT3 feels abound. *happy sigh*

The Middleman/Star Trek

A Christmas Card From The Middleman – 2012 by [livejournal.com profile] themiddleblog
In the past twelve months, Wendy Watson had honed the cool and sardonic demeanor that first got her this job into a weapon as powerful as a 30-Megahurt Definit-Kil Photrazon cannon. Even now, as she made an uncontrolled ascent over the city, hands white-knuckling one of the control line of a massive helium balloon in the shape of one of the adorable characters from "Ferrets of Fury" - the almost criminally popular game app that had taken the country's tablet and smartphone users by storm - her thoughts ricocheted with their usual post-modern tangentiality...but even as her mind ameliorated all the synaptic red alerts over her current predicament by busily trying to replace the lyric "high adventure beyond compare" from the theme to the old "Gummi Bears" cartoon show with the more descriptive "they're gelatinous with sucrose to spare" she truly could not tune out the screams of the fourteen year-old boy clutched beside her in the inflatable paws of this once adorable video game creation turned hateful harbinger of helium-filled hatred. Technically, this is not fanfic, since it was written by the show's creator, but *hands* it is too awesome not to rec.

Faith had felt the Hellmouth open, like someone ripping the marrow from her bones and pouring in lava. It wasn't until days later that she'd found out that it hadn't just been a Hellmouth (the one in Cleveland, maybe, although the town was such a pit Faith didn't think anyone would notice) or even the Hellmouth (happy, shiny, crateriffic Sunnydale, how she didn't miss it). It was all Hellmouths. Everywhere. One big worldwide demon party. / Faith figured her invitation must have gotten lost somewhere along the way. That she didn't mind so much; parties you crashed were always a better time than parties where you were invited to, anyway Chilling and heartbreaking look at how things could go wrong after the BtVS series finale.
