Crossovers

Firefly/Pirates of the Caribbean

That Wave's Shadow by [livejournal.com profile] voleuse
Sharp, insightful look at both Mal and Norrington.

*

Supernatural/Pirates of the Caribbean

Mariner by [livejournal.com profile] iseult_variante
Lovely look at one hunter who frequents the Roadhouse, and the story he has to tell. (written before At World's End)

*

Sandman/Supernatural

A bedtime story by Vix
Once upon a time, a boy set out on a quest to save his brother. Fantastic crossover with Sandman - gets the tone of it just right, and Death especially is spot-on. (implied Wincest)

Dark Angel/Supernatural

Today's Tom Sawyer by [livejournal.com profile] ladyjanelly
AU post-Devil's Trap; John and Dean are gone, in 2009, Sam finds Ben (who looks just like Dean except for that weird barcode tattoo on his neck), and takes him in. Interesting, sad. The only thing a wolf-cub can grow up to be is a wolf.

and the sequels: Ridin' the Storm Out by [livejournal.com profile] ladyjanelly
The pulse hits while Sam and Ben are on a hunt.

The Space He Invades by [livejournal.com profile] ladyjanelly
But this—this feels right, to be there for Ben like he was there for Dean. The cost doesn’t matter a bit. Sam, Ben and Bobby, the first post-pulse winter and werewolves. Lovely.

Supernatural/The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Requiem (Casualties of the Human Condition) by [livejournal.com profile] freneticfloetry
Two FBI agents meet for a drink in a bar. Henriksen and Ellison and obssession. Really well done.

The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Direct Affinity by [livejournal.com profile] svilleficrecs
Hot, sad, inevitable Derek/Sarah.

Happy Birthday by [livejournal.com profile] bigboobedcanuck
He knows Terminators aren't truly supposed to feel pain, but they aren't supposed to sit down at the table every night for his mom's casserole, either. Excellent John/Cameron set in and around the season finale.

Man, Moment and Machine by lint138
"You wanted to know more about him," she says. "Is that request still valid?" John asks Cameron about his future self. Fraught with all sorts of tension. (there are some problems with punctuating dialogue, but not enough to make me stop reading.)

Firefly

Faithless by Ari
Folk believe. It's in the constitution of folk, between heart and head, some part that's foolish enough to need certainty. Lovely meditation on faith - and the lack thereof - by Mal.

Dark Angel

Five Times Alec Didn't Get Busy by [livejournal.com profile] soundingsea
Alec's history is written in the curve of Max's bicep, the scent of her hair, the straight lines of her barcode. He nuzzles it and tastes home. Lovely. I especially like the Max and Joshua sections.

Pirates of the Caribbean

(Swing, Swing, Swing) When The Free Winds Blow by [livejournal.com profile] inlovewithnight
Sharp look at Elizabeth, looking back at her life when she's locked up for piracy.

The Bible

Three Tales of Documents Found in Ancient Persia by [livejournal.com profile] roga
[part 2 and part 3]
Funny and wistful and lovely.

The Office

How Karen and Katy Get Their Sixty Seconds' Worth by [livejournal.com profile] fiorie
Lovely look at Karen on her own in Utica, and how she makes friends with Katy.

The West Wing

the day the music died (eight kinds of days it could have been) by [livejournal.com profile] kaydeefalls
Eight alternate endings for "What Kind of Day Has It Been?" Heartbreaking, every one.

Battlestar Galactica

The Kindly Ones by [livejournal.com profile] eye_of_a_cat
Leoben offers to answer some questions for Roslin. Really interesting look at her, late in season 3.

Tessellation by Fahye
"I didn't know you had that much violence in you, Kara." Hard, violent look at Kara and Leoben during the four months of her imprisonment.

The Murder of Crows (Blackhawk Down Remix) by [livejournal.com profile] liz_marcs
Remix of "Tessellation," in which Anders searches for Kara in the first weeks of the occupation. I really like how this hints at the revelations to come in the season 3 finale.

Supernatural

Cast A Long Shadow by [livejournal.com profile] kellifer_fic
I really enjoyed this story about how Sarah Blake takes up hunting, and how badly Sam responds to that, and why. It rings really true to me. And Dean is awesome, as always.

Counting Up the Promises by [livejournal.com profile] luzdeestrellas
Achy and warm first kiss post-Mystery Spot. Lovely. (Wincest)

Eurydice by [livejournal.com profile] wanttobeatree
Sam's waiting for a sign that'll probably never come. Smart, heartbreaking twist on the myth for Sam and Dean, with a really good Sam-voice. A couple of Britishisms could be weeded out, but nothing too jarring. (Wincest)

The Night Is Somehow Smaller by [livejournal.com profile] luzdeestrellas
Spot-on coda for Mystery Spot, with Sam freaking out and Dean trying to figure out why and how to fix it. Also, Dean tells one of my favorite stories ever.

Pi by [livejournal.com profile] luzdeestrellas
because Pi(e) = LOVE (and also 3.14). I *heart* Dean's dorktasticness and Sam's epic hunger for pie.

Served Faithfully by [livejournal.com profile] zooey_glass04
Quiet, bittersweet look at a relationship John has over the years that provides him with some comfort, from the OFC's POV. Nicely done.

Signs by Legoline
It always bugs him when he finds out there’s something he didn’t know about his brother. Maybe because it feels like he spent his entire time growing up studying Dean, and failed. I'm a sucker for Dean has awesome skills stories; this is a good example. I could have done without the gratuitously gory details of the unimportant casefile, but the story is worth reading for what Sam learns about Dean.

Singular and Plural by [livejournal.com profile] night_spear1287
Dean notices Sam's picked up a few new habits after Mystery Spot, and tries to figure out why. Perfect and heartbreaking.

Tools of the Trade by [livejournal.com profile] eloise_bright
Dean can't sleep. Heartbreaking and believable snapshot of John with young Dean.

Torches Blazed (And Sacred Chants Were Praised) by [livejournal.com profile] cormallen
Hilarious take on the apocalypse, involving Sam, Dean, Bobby and some (reluctant) horsepersons. Fusion with Good Omens (so, sadly, no Dean/Pepper, which I am still hoping someone will write for me). Lots of fun. (Wincest)

Wolves At The Door by [livejournal.com profile] nutkin
It's not the pain of it that gets to him. Not the fact that he spent that time in limbo, or the memory of what it was like to only need a room with one bed. It's the fact that, in that reality, there was a life after Dean. Haunting and lovely. (wincest)
