Harry Potter
Advent by [livejournal.com profile] madsciencechick
Adorable story of clueless!Sirius trying to figure out what to buy his friends for Christmas without asking (it's a bet, see). Funny, sweet, touching, and hot.

Alike, but not alike by La Onza
James and Sirius, discussing the future, and Sirius's relationship with Remus. Lovely.

Battle Nerves by [livejournal.com profile] rosemaryandrue
MWPP+Lily are on edge after a mission goes bad. Lily and Sirius wear at each other, and James just wants to shake them all. then there is some hot Lily/James sex in an alley.

Creation Myths by [livejournal.com profile] krabapple
Over the years, Sirius and Remus make homes for each other. Full of love and hope and quiet resignation. Beautiful. *sniffle*

If You've a Ready Mind by Maya
Draco gets sorted into Ravenclaw. Things are...different. Except that Harry is clueless as ever. Wonderfully hilarious and touching. Um, there are ten parts, of which this is the first. I'm not sure how they're organized so you can find them in her LJ... It's definitely worth the effort. ETA: and here is an index. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] daisy_chan and [livejournal.com profile] elsie.

The Middle Man by [livejournal.com profile] kabeyk
*fans self* Incredibly hot story in which Sirius starts fucking Remus's girlfriend and they both get off on it, but Sirius wants more of Remus and, well, they finally figure it out and *guh*...

Taking Advice by Rin
Adorably cute Sirius/Remus story in which Sirius seeks advice from James and confesses his feelings to Remus.

The Year of Cold Feet by [livejournal.com profile] magnetic_pole
"I'm brave like that sometimes."

Sirius smiled. "You are. That's why they put you in Gyffindor. To show me and James how to do it."
Lovely story of Remus falling in love.

The Years of the Rat by [livejournal.com profile] kaydeefalls
Brilliant, engrossing story of Peter Pettigrew, and how his betrayal of the Potters was a natual outgrowth of his character and personal philosophy.

Crossovers

Harry Potter/Hellblazer
Break His Fall by Jane St Clair
Remus has a favor to ask of John Constantine (comics, not movie). Sharp, bitter, smart, and sad, a great crossover making the two different worlds work brilliantly together.

Batman

Trespassing by [livejournal.com profile] azurine
Dick seeks comfort from Bruce after a nightmare. I thought this was one of the creepiest things I’ve ever read, even though there’s nothing overtly *wrong* happening, it feels like it could slip over the edge into bad wrongness of the bad kind at any moment.

Buffy

Some Trot About by [livejournal.com profile] glossing
Funny, sweet, sad and hot. Devon and Oz hear about Sunnydale, and perform their mourning ritual.

***

Veronica Mars/BtVS

Three Hours to Sunrise by hjdevnull
Well done VMars/BtVS crossover - Veronica is snatched by vamps and Wallace helps a stranger named Faith get her back.

***

Constantine (movie)
A Distant Mirror by Maygra
Constantine seeks out Gabriel, both of them caught between heaven and hell. Hot and sad, with the sharp ring of truth.

Good Omens

A Local Habitation by [livejournal.com profile] irisbleu and [livejournal.com profile] linnpuzzle
The history of Crowley and Aziraphale, by way of St. James Park. Funny, sweet, understated and touching. The art is gorgeous.

Ocean's 11

Walk Like a Camel by [livejournal.com profile] kiki_miserychic
Gently, wryly absurd story of Rusty's quest for funnel cake and the unexpected places it lands him and Danny. Some minor grammatical nits but the voices are so perfect and the story's so funny they're not worth worrying about.

***

Rome

Veritas by Miss Pamela
Lovely, in-character conversation between Pullo and Vorenus about love and loyalty.

***

West Wing

Loophole by Speranza
Eeee! Speranza's writing Josh/Donna! Loopy, early seasons, Josh goes down on Donna for no discernible reason fic that explores the weird nearly non-existent boundaries of their relationship. Funny and hot and sweet.

Crossovers

Angel/Firefly
Her Vorpal Sword in Hand by [livejournal.com profile] sangerin
Lovely, sense-making, in character Cordelia/River story that picks up Cordy where she left off and drops her in a place where she can be found by the crew of Serenity.

Buffy/Firefly
Rough Heals by [livejournal.com profile] voleuse
Brief yet brilliant BtVS/Firefly crossover. What is a key, after all, and why should it die? Dawn lives and watches the ‘verse change.

Constantine (movie)/Harry Potter
Jacking Gehenna by Mirabella
Hot, brutal, brilliant Constantine/HP crossover. Harry has one last thing to finish off, and only Constantine can help him. (John Constantine/Harry Potter)

Firefly/Sandman
Nights of endless conversations by Fahye
Utterly brilliant Firefly/Sandman crossover. Jayne and Destruction, Mal and Dream, Inara and Desire - it's all so perfect. And then the last little moment of lucidity for Delirium... Absolutely awesome.

Firefly/Stargate: Atlantis
The Big Bang and Everything After by cgb
This is so River it hurts, beautifully. I read this on the strength of my love for River and my confidence in cgb's writing, because all I know about Rodney McKay is that he's a scientist and a bit of an ass, but in this story, he's a man lost in a strange and distant future, and River is so perfectly River, and they have a meeting of the minds over mathematics. Poignant and sharp.

Constantine (Movie)

Day Late, Dollar Short by [livejournal.com profile] sloanesomething
Sharp, subtle, exquisite. John deals with Gabriel after.

Fallout by Ivy
John Constantine explains it all. More a monologue than a story, it’s Constantine telling us The Way It Is, and it really works - I could definitely hear Keanu telling this story as I read, which may not be a selling point for everyone, but it works for me. *g*

Things Known and Unknown and Instincts by [livejournal.com profile] sienamystic
The first is a strong John POV and the second Angela’s as they each try to figure out where they are in relation to each other. First person both times, and I’m surprised it worked for me, though the John is stronger than the Angela, I think.
