The Mummy/The Mummy Returns
The Jealous Pharaoh's Sigh by [livejournal.com profile] yahtzee63
Hot hot hot Evie/Rick/Ardith Bey threesome, with a great, in-character rationale and a very sweet ending.

American Gods
Falling a Little Behind by [livejournal.com profile] fromherashes
Elegant and evocative story about Ibis and Horus, about the act of love and the act of writing, the push-pull of keeping one's distance v. inserting oneself into the story.

Tombstone
Blood and Whiskey by [livejournal.com profile] astolat
Truly amazing. There's some startlingly vivid imagery in this, and some good characterization and fun dialogue, as well, that really captures the spirit of Doc Holliday as he was in the movie. Excellent.

LA Confidential
Have I mentioned that LA Confidential is one of my favorite books of all time, and that I'm still bitter about the film losing the Oscar for Best Picture to that damn boat movie? Ahem. That has nothing to do with this.

Two Heroes by [livejournal.com profile] dsudis
Utterly FABulous fic. Bud's not cut out for smalltown living, and Lynn knows it.

Master and Commander (movie)
None So Blind by [livejournal.com profile] pun
A lovely bit of Master & Commander (movie) fic in which Stephen finally puts a name to what he's feeling.

The Bourne Identity/The Bourne Supremacy
Certain Dark Things by [livejournal.com profile] jae_w
Marie loves a killer. Beautiful exploration of how a life on the run means that even while everything around them changes, nothing changes at all. I wish I'd written this one - one of my favorites of the challenge.

Master and Commander (movieverse)
Like Distance, Like Time by Nifra Idril
Hollom finds his courage.

I love how each line is heavy with the weight Hollom is carrying - the weight that he's too old to be where he still is, that Warley died when it should have been him, that he's coming to believe the men's superstitions, and that he finally finds the strength to act and it buoys him up against the load he carries, even as it sinks him down into the sea.

Lovely.

Sounding by hossgal
All beta bias aside, this is a wonderful bit of character exploration that feels as if it could be slotted right into the movie. Aubrey's dreams take him somewhere he'd never go in daylight, and hossgal gets his character *down*. The use of language is lovely and sensual; we drown with Jack as he sinks beneath the surface.

Three Ways to End an Acquaintance by Shalott
Lovely fic, examining three possible outcomes of a duel between Aubrey and Maturin.
