Alison grins widely at him, and Felix gets this weird jolt of memory, recalling a ten-year-old Sarah winning a netball game in school, before they moved to Canada. Alison is so foreign, so new, and yet she's family in a way he can't shake. Maybe that's why they've become such fast friends. Maybe not. Felix will never know. Felix and Alison's weird friendship is one of my favorite things about Orphan Black, and this story captures exactly why. It's hilarious and then it hits you in the feels when you're not expecting it.

Abed redoubles his attention on the screen, trying to figure out what it is that's causing the tears- it's Shepherd Book, dying on Haven, every hint of his real identity being cut off too soon. It's a brilliant scene, highlighting all the questions surrounding Book's secret past while proving, without doubt, that those questions would never be answered. It's as frustrating as the series itself, thirteen perfect episodes and a movie, and a hundred story lines that never got to be. Awesome first kiss for Troy and Abed, from Abed's POV, with some lovely Firefly references.

Bert's spent countless untold years with Mary, traveling with her from place to place, from family to family. Sometimes he arrives in the place before her, and waits. Sometimes he catches up to her, after she's been there for a while. He's immortal, of course, thanks to her, but he's not immortal like her. There are places Mary Poppins can live and thrive that Bert can't, and during the years when she's living with families under water, or deep in the heart of a flaming volcano, Bert can only wait for the winds to change, the tides to turn, the volcano to sleep, and hope the next child lives in a place where he can join them.

He's not magic like Mary Poppins, but over the years, Bert's developed his own magic, making paintings and drawings that can come to life, and can be used as portals to other worlds. Lovely and clever backstory for Bert. ♥

The questions, when Nick finally gets a chance to ask them, are met with the kind of irritation only someone both fourteen and tired and extremely disappointed could manage. "It was a recording," Cassie snaps. "She saw the conversation years and years ago, and recorded her end of it, okay? We're supposed to talk to this Shadow."

"I'm sorry," Nick says quietly.

Cassie's frown only deepens. "I know," she says. Cassie's mom has work for them to do. Cool story about how her plans might work.

The Difference Between Retrieval and Recovery by to_say_nothing
She closed her eyes. "I wish the future would hold steady for a while," she said plaintively. She felt young. She was sure - nearly sure - that she was older than she'd ever been, but she felt young and lost. "I wish I could get my balance." Nick organizes a rescue after Cassie is taken by Division. Good action, and a really lovely and true reunion for them.

This is a day: over breakfast, they loudly debate what to do that day, even as her pen moves steadily through the unformed memories of it corporeal on paper, even as he complains that her cars look like boxes, her people like blobs--what the hell is that even supposed to be?--even as she tells him to fuck off, her art is pretty fucking amazing, all right, it is a rough sketch. They go out into the street and talk to people and maybe get shot at, then they go somewhere else for lunch, bickering over her possibly shitty-or-not-shitty taste in clothing, and then they get shot at some more. When it's over, they still aren't dead yet. Really love series of snippets about their life on the run.

Future Imperfect by to_say_nothing
Cassie always drew what she saw, even when she didn't like it. She'd drawn herself and Nick dying, dying, dying, tortured and imprisoned, drugged and separated. She drew herself now, crying up at the ceiling. The green marker pressed heavily into the page as she scribbled the crimped lines of her hair, but she held the silver lightly on the outline of her tears. Lovely bit of Nick/Cassie.

My Heart Will Surely Fail by redbrunja
So she's on the run with a totally hot older guy with stubble and shoulders and blue eyes and she's possibly going to die very very soon (long story, not that entertaining) the point is, given that life is short and Nick is hot, doesn't it make sense that once, just once, they should hook up? Short, sharp, true look at Nick and Cassie's situation.

Nick leaves Cassie soon after the end of the movie for her own safety, but they team up again a few years later to break her mother out of Division. An enjoyable read.

"You were dead, and I thought," he starts before kissing her again.

There's blood on his lips, her blood and Cassie doesn't know what to say, what to do so she reaches out for him, closes the unused space between them to press his body against hers. The solidness of his weight above her makes her feel safe and protected in a way she didn't realize she needed. "Nick," she breathes against him, mouth brushing against his to stop the frantic sounds he's making. "I'm ok," she says, eyes fluttering, limbs heavy and mouth slack. "I'm ok." Sharp, desperate first kiss for Nick and Cassie.

"It's okay. I've got you. You're gonna be okay."

It sounds too much like what she heard in her vision and she knows she has to leave. So she pulls back and gives him a watery smile. His returning smile is broad and lights up his whole face and she wishes she were a better artist. She wants to remember this better than she can capture it.

"We're going to be okay this time," he promises and she nods. Yes they are. Cassie leaves to keep them both safe, and Nick doesn't take it well. Achy and lovely.

Sweet Deal by anenko
They're facing each other, close enough to kiss, and there's a bed right beneath them. Cassie doesn't need to be a Watcher to see where this is going. Destination: hot sex, straight ahead. She's already lightheaded just thinking about. Every single day it took to get to this moment is suddenly so very worth it. For once, Cassie doesn't see it coming. Sweet and funny and hot.

When she's not planning the full destruction of all Division agencies across the globe, rescuing her mother, and saving the world from the renegades, she's searching for the original Wiper who took Nick's memories, or at least hunting down a Wiper worth his or her salt that could bring back some glimpses so she could win his trust; Kira's Push runs deep in his scarred brain. Cassie would feel doomed if it wasn't for her latest vision of her and Nick hustling a dice game, a fond familiar smile on his face.

She visits him when she can, but it never ends well. The technicolor swell flies outward from his fists, and she has to drug him again, rubbing her bruised face and calling for a Stitch. Cassie rescues Nick from Division, and then tries to find a way to get his memories of her back. Sharp and good.
