Beautiful, sharp Inara/River fic.

Grey’s Anatomy
Just a Daisy in the Shadow of the Sun by Nichole
George is infatuated with Meredith, but he learns to see what’s right in front of him eventually. Beautifully written, as all her fic is, this story totally hits my bulletproof kink with stoical pining, unrequited love turning requited, and who doesn’t love George/Izzie? Really, Meredith in no way deserves George, and I’ve only seen about fifteen minutes of the show total, and I know that.

Harry Potter
Bare Naked by [livejournal.com profile] cupiscent
Hot, sexy, clever fic in which Ginny works as a stripper and Draco finds out.

"I'm sure you have ambitions," she said more like a demand. "Perfect society marriage, like your friends? A promotion... what department are you in again? What do you want?"

Draco watched the freckles on her unpainted face and remembered them scattered all over her as she leaned, discomposed, sweat-sheened, over him. "I want to fuck you while you're wearing those boots and nothing else."

Guh.

Being Noble by [livejournal.com profile] poseida9
Oh, *god*, I just cried my way through this story. It's just *sniffle* it's an achy, poignant, delicate story in which Harry doesn't understand why Ginny thinks he's noble, and Ginny's explanation doesn't really clear that up. Also, it's in second person, and I love it anyway.

And he smiled, then-a real smile, a wide, nice smile-and it didn’t fix anything important but it fixed everything unimportant. You fell in love with him then-not the real kind, of course; the small kind, the silly kind, the kind that is forever when you are eleven but not when you are thirteen-and even if it doesn’t really count to other people, it counts to you.

Clockwork by [livejournal.com profile] xylodemon
Warm and tender and wistful story of Molly reflecting over everything she's got and everything she stands to lose in the upcoming war.

In some ways, she had felt safer then, because they had all been living at home. In the back of her mind, she had known it would have been so easy for her to lose them all at once that way, but from day to day she had felt better. Having them all underfoot, needing her for the simplest things had allowed her not to dwell on that, and it had lent a sense of normalcy to the situation. It had been comforting, even if false, and in some ways she wished she had that comfort now.

Damn Tornadoes by [livejournal.com profile] mad_maudlin
This is a novella-length Ron/Harry version of Damn Yankees. Just adorably cute, as Ron gets everything he thought he wanted and realizes he only ever wanted one thing at all, and being the world’s greatest Quidditch player isn't it.

Full Circle by [livejournal.com profile] xylodemon
Bitter, sad wartime story in which Ron tries to comfort Harry and knows he’s not enough - Harry takes comfort where he can. Harry/Ron/Hermione/Draco in various - and painfully believable - permutations.

The Hero’s Hero by [livejournal.com profile] xylodemon
Harry is everyone's hero, but Ron is Harry's. So heartbreakingly gorgeous. Oh, Ron.

[livejournal.com profile] fleshdress’s Lusty Month of May stories for the [livejournal.com profile] pervy_werewolf challenge. I can’t pick just one out - they're little sharp slices of Sirius/Remus fic exploring various kinks. They're all unrelated and can be read individually, and the month's not over yet, but all of them - even the ones that kinda squick me - have been good.

The Iliad
By a Thread by [livejournal.com profile] arysteia
Warm and tender - you can really feel the affection between Achilles and Patroclus here - and the last line is a kick in the gut.

Achilles pulls the thread through and lines up the next stitch, as small and neat as he can. It's harder, in some weird, unfathomable way, to force the sliver of ivory through unresisting skin than it is to ram a sword or spear through muscle and bone. Each tiny penetration is like a death blow, and he ties off quickly, breaking the thread and throwing the needle away.

Death-Coloured by [livejournal.com profile] viva_gloria
Resolutely in character, creepy and yet kind of romantic. Achilles contemplates mortality as Patroclus has a wound taken care of.

Follower by [livejournal.com profile] viva_gloria
Spectacular, sharp, beautiful and painful Achilles/Patroclus fic.

Neither of them will ever surrender to anyone else. Once Patroclus -- in Achilles' armour, a perfect fit at last -- has fallen to Hector's hand, Achilles will have to find other ways to love.

Strange Armies in the Night by [livejournal.com profile] viva_gloria
Achilles loves Patroclus while he can, driving away foreboding dreams. Hot and sad.

Messenger by [livejournal.com profile] viva_gloria
Achilles avenges Patroclus and uses Hector to send him a message. Vivid, savage, and sad.

Veronica Mars
The Comeback: The Vanity Fair Profile by [livejournal.com profile] yahtzee63
Sickeningly (and I mean that in the good way) possible way for events from the finale to play out, with Aaron Echolls making a comeback and everyone else left broken in the wake. The Vanity Fair profile format is an inspired way to deal with the fallout from the finale from an outside perspective, and so very much something I could see on the show.

The Earth Is Made of Glass by [livejournal.com profile] katjanka
Sharp, brittle, in-character exploration of Lianne Mars. Lovely and painful.

12 Rolls of Film by [livejournal.com profile] sinaddict
The fearsome foursome (with cameo by Weevil) in all its twisted glory. It's wrong (consider that your incest warning) and it's dirty and it's *hot*, and it totally fits their characters. The show will never go there, but oh man, it would explain so much. (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] barely_bean for the rec!)

"You want answers, Veronica Mars? I don't think you really want them. I think you just need something to chase. The question is, which one of us is right?"

Faith/Bellatrix. Um, isn’t the pairing enough? Hot and sharp and dangerous.

Look But Don't by [livejournal.com profile] voleuse
Guh. Faith/Rogue hotness. It's possible the club might not be hotter than hell, but from everything Faith's been told, hell's actually less with the fire and more with the torture. Unless the torture involves fire, of course, but either way, the club's still pretty damn hot. Like the rip off your clothes and douse yourself in tequila sort of hot.

Which is why the girl with the gloves catches her attention.

Between the humidity outside, and the press of the crowd on the floor, Faith can barely breathe, but the girl's wearing not only gloves, but sleeves and stockings, too. And she's not even sweating, not even when the guy behind her grinds impossibly close, curves to whisper in her ear.

Why is there not more Rogue femslash?
