Finding Zihuatanejo by Amber Largo
It was a couple of very long legs before the driver announced Zihuatanejo, a little town as beautiful as the name suggested, but I was content to stare out the window and doze. Maybe I was a worn-out old man, but I was one who was tasting freedom. The Pacific was every damned bit as blue as I'd imagined, and a sweet little señorita in a dress of almost the same color pointed down the beach to where the new hotel was. Lovely missing scene, with a spot-on Red voice.

Really lovely look at Red settling into life in Mexico with Andy. The voice is spot-on - I could totally hear Morgan Freeman narrating as I read.

The Wire
The Why of Things by tokenblkgirl
"I would've asked for grape." The other detective says when they're alone. Dukie shrugs; he's lost interest in the topic. The fat one left a while ago. / "You know why?" / "No." / "Cause nobody likes it. Not really. Means there's always gonna be some left." / This makes sense and Dukie wonders why he didn't think of it first. Going last, waiting until everyone else is finished always makes things easier. Still, nobody likes grape. Bunk and Lester question Dukie. Same as it ever was. Note-perfect, and therefore, heartbreaking.

The Hurt Locker
The Fourteenth Day in Delta by Renne
Truth was that he was too selfish to let anyone else put the suit on. He didn't give a shit about being a hero, but the thought of standing back by the Humvee as the guy in the suit went in there and did his thing was unbearable. But once Sanborn had lost it, once he'd shown he was weak, James had known there wasn't any fucking risk that someone would take the one thing that made him feel alive – death – from him. 'How do you do it?' Sanborn had asked. 'Take the risk?' and James had just shrugged. It was who he was. It either was or it wasn't, that was plain fact. Sharp, smart look at James and Sanborn.
