Crossovers

Discworld/The Nightmare Before Christmas

The Ill-advised Skeletal Exchange Programme by meridian_rose
"So, this Halloween. It involves Otherworldly creatures terrifying normal people while you stand around singing songs about it?"

"Yes! Only you make it sound so wrong," Jack complained. "And I just don't stand around." He puffed up and posed dramatically. "I am the Pumpkin King!"

Susan wasn't impressed. Jack visibly deflated.
Hee! This is delightful.

The Good Wife/White Collar

A Lady and a Gentleman In Black by hederahelix
Sharp, well-observed story of the time Kalinda assisted Special Agents Burke and Barrigan on an investigation, with lots of nice UST simmering between Kalinda and Diana.

Indiana Jones/Casablanca

Indiana Jones and the Standard of Dishonour by vomit_bunny
Indy gets stuck in Casablanca. Really fun crossover.

Narnia/No Reservations

No Reservations: Narnia by Edonohana
Recced everywhere, and for good reason. Perfectly nails both canons with wit and sharp-eyed detail. I'm crammed into a burrow so small that my knees are up around my ears and the boom mike keeps slamming into my head, inhaling the potent scent of toffee-apple brandy and trying to drink a talking mouse under the table. But is it really the boom mike that's making my head pound? I know for sure that my camera man doesn't usually have two heads. I have to face facts. The mouse is winning.

The Bourne Trilogy

Three Dead Men and the Women Who Did Not Mourn Them by winter baby
Bittersweet and haunting look at Jason Bourne via the women in his life.

Burn Notice

International Man of Mystery by Kris
Really good, sharp look at Michael, from his recruiting to where he is during the show.

Casablanca

Get Down to Earth at Times by sundancekid
I really like this, how it fleshes Ilsa out, makes her choices more real, more relatable. And how her love for Victor is different from her love for Rick, but neither is less loved. Lovely and sad.

Oh, the absolute perfect epilogue to Casablanca, with such a spot on Louis voice that I could practically hear Claude Rains telling me this story. Wonderful

Nom de Coeur by Dorinda
Ooh, this was good. Understated, long, slow, unfolding in its own time, keeping me glued to the screen to find out where it was going. Lovely Louis characterization and a nice Rick voice.

Jeeves and Wooster

Yeah, this is why I was asking about the books. Absolutely hilarious.

Jeeves and the Blessed Indiscretion by [livejournal.com profile] astolat
And another utterly charming and funny story, that also manages to be endearing and sweet.

Nero Wolfe

This story is incredibly spot-on in terms of both characterization and narrative voice. First person is *so* hard to do well (I tend not to read fic in first person, myself), even if (perhaps especially if) the source material itself is in first person. But this... this could have been straight (heh) out of one of the books - that's how well the author nails Archie here. And it was hot, too. *g* Wonderful work. (Archie Goodwin/Saul Panzer)
