He gives the invitation to join him for a few days against his better judgment, but he still gives it. Sweet and funny moderately slow burn for Roy to figure out that he might want Jamie to join him and Keeley in bed.

The problem with having an eidetic memory, Enola discovers, is that she can recall with perfect clarity the sounds Tewkesbury made in that thin, hazy half-dark. The UST is deliciously palpable as Enola tries to figure out what to do about these feelings stirred by what she witnessed. This might be my favorite thing I've read in this year's collection that wasn't my gift.

He's pulled on a black silk negligee over his Impulse suit; it is twisted up around his waist and he paws at it irritatedly. The effect is something like 'explosion at the costume store' or 'highly inappropriate middle-school production of Cabaret'.

Kon can't stop laughing. "You look like Skeletor!"

It was the Feegles that found it. They had a gift for finding lost things; in fact, they were so good at it they could find them before they were actually lost, sometimes bypassing several fences and locked doors on the way.

Tiffany was fairly sure this one hadn't been stolen from a rightful owner, at least. You couldn't own people.

If it qualified as people. This reads like a lost chapter from one of the Tiffany Aching books. <3

The idea that he could try the same charisma shit on her that he pulls with the OPA faction leaders or the head of some Inner corporation he's trying to sweet talk is infuriating. "Spare me the speeches, Freddy," she scoffs, "they've never worked on me."

To his credit, he drops the act, his face hardening as it typically does when the two of them are discussing a particularly tricky deal. "Fine. I need you on the Behemoth because I need someone I can trust. But I wouldn't ask if I didn't think you were the best."

Damn the man, she won't let him flatter her. Drummer is such a great character and I love the backstory built for her here - her anger and her pragmatism and her determination to do well by her people - as well as filling in her relationship with Naomi, and why it ended the way it did. I enjoyed this a lot.

And now she had this woman staring at her like she had all the answers. But Aphra had nothing. AU where Aphra is captured by Saw Gerrera's partisans and tries to flirt her way out of it while being interrogated by Padme. Really well done.

Like an old sleight of hand trick that you’ve practiced a thousand times, that you know down to the core, that you could play in your sleep because you’ve made it your own. After while your body goes ‘oh, I know how this song goes’ and it takes over, and suddenly it’s five years after the last time you’ve tried playing the trick but you find out as soon as you do that it doesn’t matter.
